The Vaccines - Post Break-Up Sex

The Vaccines are a London-based indie rock band that formed in 2010. Members of the band are Justin Young (vocals, who previously worked under the name Jay Jay Pistolet, playing indie folk), Árni Hjörvar (bass), Freddie Cowan (guitar, younger brother of Tom from The Horrors) and Pete Robertson (drums).

They describe their influences as "'50s rock 'n' roll, '60s garage and girl groups, '70s punk, '80s American hardcore, C86 and good pop music".

The band released their debut single "Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)" on 29 November 2010 in the UK where it reached number 157 in the UK Singles Chart. Only one minute and 24 seconds long, it was named "Track of the Day" by Q magazine.

On 5 January 2011, the band were placed third in the BBC's Sound of 2011 best new name poll. The Vaccines were also nominated for an MTV Award for "Best New Band of 2011".

Having been signed to Columbia Records, the band released their second single "Post Break-Up Sex" on 24 January 2011 where it debuted at number 32 in the UK.

The song's melody borrows heavily from The Ramones 1981 hit, The KKK Took My Baby Away.

The band are due to release their debut album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? on 14 March 2011 through Columbia Records and will be preceeded by the official release of single "If You Wanna" on 14 March.
