Back in the 60s at the height of the British Blues revival, messages started appearing scrawled on London Tube stations walls reading "Clapton Is God". The 'Clapton is God' grafitti started appearing with a slash through it and the message underneath it read "Green is better than God".
A great example of Peter Green's genius and one of his last contributions to Fleetwood Mac (1969). He left the band a year later after a mental breakdown. The stop and start technique inspired Led Zeppelin to do the same thing on "Black Dog".
